LUXURY FULL-SERVICE DESIGN

STARTING AT $2500

My goal is to assist you in bringing your envisioned space to life while ensuring you can sit back and relax. I fully understand that refreshing or renovating a home can be overwhelming, which is why I am dedicated to minimizing stress, overwhelming options, and decision fatigue throughout the process.

By the end of our journey together, you will have a space that fills you with pride—a sanctuary that warmly welcomes your children after a long day at school and serves as a gathering place for your loved ones during holidays and special occasions.

Together, we will collaborate on your style, preferences, and necessities to create a design plan that will bring to life the Home Sweet Home you've always dreamed of.

THE PROCESS

Full-service interior design consists of three major phases

PHASE 1 -  CONCEPTION

We kick things off with a complimentary discovery call and an initial consultation to understand your vision and preferences. Then, we get down to business by creating the ideal floor plan and inspirational design boards. To ensure we're all on the same page, we also consult with contractors and vendors on-site, reviewing your project and taking detailed measurements for precise quotes. It's an exciting step towards bringing your dream space to life!

PHASE 2 - DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

Let the fun begin! In this exciting phase, I will carefully curate every item for your space, aligning them with the design direction, investment estimate, and floor plans. Once each piece of furniture, fabric sample, and window treatment is chosen, I will create a detailed design presentation for your review and approval.

PHASE 3 - EXECUTION

After receiving your final design approval at our purchasing meeting, I start placing orders and tracking delivery times.  Once all the construction work is finished, I take care of the turn-key furniture installation, leaving you with nothing to worry about. Now, it's time for you to sit back, relax, and fully enjoy your stunning new space!

IS FULL SERVICE DESIGN FOR YOU?

THIS SERVICE IS FOR YOU IF:

  • You know what you love on Pinterest, but you can't figure out how to execute the design in your home

  • You don't have the time or energy to compare table lamps, rugs, paint colors, etc. You'd prefer a designer to be with you every step of the way

  • You currently have a home that doesn't function for your everyday needs, and you are looking for a new layout that will fit your family's lifestyle

  • Your project requires custom furniture or renovations that require moving plumbing, walls, etc.

  • You don't enjoy DIY or doing design projects on your own

THIS SERVICE IS NOT FOR YOU IF:

  • Your project needs a simple refresh and you're only looking for guidance on what to purchase on your own.

  • You enjoy getting your hands dirty and are a lover of all things DIY

  • You are not ready to make the financial investment required for a full-service renovation or room refresh.

  • Your tendency is to opt for quick-fix purchases rather than investing in quality furniture pieces.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT OCCURS DURING THE INITIAL CONSULTATION?  DOES THE CONSULTATION COST ANYTHING?

During this first in-person meeting, we will discuss your goals for the project, what's working (and not working) for you currently in your home.

We will discuss the scope of your project to ensure up front if your goals are realistically aligned with what you want to accomplish in the projected timeline and estimated investment.

The first in-person consultation fee is $300, with an additional charge for locations that are over 15 miles away from my home office.  Should we decide to move forward with your project, the consultation fee will be applied to the design fee.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE FULL-SERVICE DESIGN?

My full-service design approach enables me to manage projects from initial consultation to completion.  The three phases of my process includes:

1.  Conception - This includes our initial in-person consultation where we will discuss the scope of your project.  With the information gathered at this session, I will create a proposal that will give you an estimate of the design investment necessary for your project. Once you have approved the preliminary proposal, I will consult with contractors and vendors on-site to review your space to take detailed measurements in order to receive a most accurate quote.

2.  Detailed Design - During this phase I create a customized space plan, including dimensions of furnishing items that are scaled perfectly for your home and ideal placement of those items.  Along with the layout, I will create a concept design board that includes specific sofas, rugs, lighting and accessories that are needed to bring your vision for your home to life.  I'll present everything to you at once rather than piecemeal, so you can see how everything relates to each other in a cohesive design.

3.  Execution - After the approval and payment for all the items for your space, I work with both furniture vendors and contractors to make your dreams come to life.  Once all construction is complete, I provide turn-key installation--the part you've been waiting for!

WHAT IS THE FEE STRUCTURE FOR FULL-SERVICE INTERIOR DESIGN?

After we discuss the scope of your project at the initial consultation, I will provide you with the determined flat design fee.  This fee is calculated by a number of factors including the value, experience, intellectual knowledge, and time required for me to work on your project.  This does not include cost of furniture, contractors, etc.

The design fee is split up into 2 equal payments.  The initial deposit is due after the preliminary proposal has been sent to the client, but before any contractors or vendors make on-site consultations.  The final design fee payment is due after the 1st presentation.  This will "kick-off" the detailed design phase.  All payments for furniture, window treatments, rugs, etc. are due before any purchasing starts.  This payment model allows me to focus entirely on your project and prevents me from constantly sending you invoices.  This also allows the project to stay on a timeline and not be stalled due to payment issues.

ARE THERE ANY DISCOUNTS AVAILABLE FOR DESIGNERS ON FURNITURE PURCHASED THROUGH YOUR FIRM?

My approach to pricing is similar to that of other retailers like Pottery Barn. As a licensed buyer from manufacturers, I must abide by their established guidelines regarding product pricing for retailers, including designers, online shops, and storefronts. There are several reasons behind this pricing structure:

  • Manufacturers require account holders to apply a markup to their prices, prohibiting the sale of products at wholesale prices by any business.

  • I take responsibility for ensuring the quality of the products and handling any damages that may occur, which requires additional time and effort.

  • When clients purchase items from my vendors, I oversee every aspect of the process, from purchasing to tracking, storing, sorting, and all the necessary preparations leading up to installation. This level of service is not commonly provided by many retailers.

It's important to note that my design fee is separate and covers the time, expertise, and creativity I dedicate to crafting the best plan for your home.

HOW LONG DOES THIS PROCESS TAKE?

The Conception Phase can take 2-3 weeks and the Detailed Phase can take another 4-6 weeks.  The Execution phase is entirely dependent on the scope of your project, furniture lead times, and the subcontractor's schedules.

DO I HAVE TO PURCHASE ALL FURNITURE, FINISHES AND DECOR ITEMS SUGGESTED BY THE DESIGNER?

I love crafting customized and thoughtfully curated designs. With access to exclusive 'trade only' vendors, I can source unique pieces that are not commonly available. My commitment is to ensure that I never charge my clients above the retail price (MSRP), allowing me to maintain an affordable design fee structure. Additionally, I have a passion for incorporating any cherished vintage or special items you may already possess into your design, adding a personal touch to your space.

Once the final design is presented, you get to choose the selections you would like to purchase.  However, all trade purchases are made through Rachel Frey Interiors, as this is part of my overall business fee structure.
